Thousands of people have seen this Ohio woman’s before-and-after recovery pictures on Facebook, illustrating that there is always time to change your course.

“How about that for motivation? I honestly thought I’d die on a park bench with a needle in my arm or by gunshot to the head. I would’ve never in a million years thought my life would look the way it does today,” Ginny Burton captioned her photo.

Burton claims her mother exposed her to marijuana when she was six years old. She claims she began using methamphetamine and cocaine when she was 12 years old. She started smoking crack and being blacked out by the age of 14.

She was in and out of the juvenile detention centre. She spent three years in prison. Until eight years ago, it was a vicious loop.

“If you would have told me that my life would look like it does today eight and a half years ago, I would have called you a liar,” Burton told 10TV.

Burton will receive his bachelor’s degree in political science next week.

Thousands of people have shared her post, which has gone as far as the Middle East, Switzerland, and Spain.

“Stop selling yourself short. You don’t know what tomorrow might bring so you might consider starting today,” she said.
